Basic configuration for Android automation

This section describes the essential configurations needed to ensure that automated tests on Android devices run successfully and stably.

Perform the following procedure on the Android device:

• Enable the Unknown sources option: This allows Android to install applications that originate from sources other than the Google Play.

• Enable the USB debugging option:

  • Open Settings, Tap on ‘About’ Option, Tap on ‘Software Information’, Tap On ‘More’.
  • Tap on “Build number” 7 times to enable Developer options.
  • Go back to Settings and make sure that the “Developer options” setting is there.
  • Tap on Developer options and turn on the USB Debugging option from the menu on the next screen.
