Attaching screenshots to a JIRA bug

With TestArchitect, screenshots associated with a local test result can be attached to a JIRA bug.
Note: Repository test results do not contain captured screenshots; hence, this feature is not available to a repository test result.
Ensure that the following requirements are met before adding a single screenshot to a JIRA bug:
Note:
  • At present, TestArchitect-JIRA integration supports versions 5 and 6 of JIRA.

To attach a screenshot of a local test result to a JIRA bug, complete the following steps:

  1. In the TestArchitect explorer tree, open a local test result whose screenshot you wish to attach to a JIRA bug by double-clicking the test result's node.
  2. Select the Result Details tab.
  3. Invoke the Recorder Screenshot dialog box by doing one of the following:
    • Click to expand details and select the screenshot to be attached.
    • Click the Show screenshot viewer icon on the main panel's icon bar. Use the Previous Action and Next Action buttons to navigate to the action containing the screenshot to be attached.
  4. In the Recorder Screenshot dialog box, select the screenshot, and click the paperclip icon . The Attachment Screenshot dialog box appears with the default user name and password configured as specified in Registering the JIRA server.

Tip: At your option, you may override the default user name and password with your own credentials for an existing account on the JIRA server.
  5. In Bug ID, enter the JIRA bug ID to which you wish to attach the screenshot.
  6. Click OK. If the screenshot is successfully attached to the JIRA bug, a message to that effect is displayed.
  7. Click OK.
If you now open the JIRA bug, an entry for the attached screenshot appears in the Attachments panel.
